Partnership and Project Specialist
Established in 1914, the Texas State Florists’ Association (TSFA) is the premier organization representing floral industry professionals in Texas and beyond. Through conferences, meetings, the Texas School of Floral Design, publications and certification programs for high school students, teachers and designers, TSFA achieves its mission of cultivating member success and a strong floral community. The Project Specialist plays a key role in advancing these programs.
Position Summary
Responsible for developing floral design curriculum and educational resources, supporting government and industry relations efforts, participating in certification programs, assisting with events and working collaboratively to improve processes, quality and outcomes. This role links the floriculture industry and education, necessitating a hybrid work setting. Reports to the Executive Director.
Essential Job Functions
- Lead efforts to align association initiatives with current and future floriculture industry and workforce needs.
- Oversee relationships with state agencies, industry partners and other key stakeholders, ensuring program alignment, timely submissions, regulatory compliance and accurate reporting.
- Identify and implement strategies that expand access to TSFA’s floral education and certification programs.
- Facilitate the development of industry-leading floriculture curriculum, instructional tools, training opportunities and educational resources that provide innovative solutions and improved outcomes for today’s teachers and learners.
- Manage projects related to technological innovation, electronic data, process efficiency and program standardization.
- Serve as an instructor, as needed.
- Participate in hands-on floral design certification grading, in person and online.
- Partner with staff, vendors and volunteers to ensure the success of all TSFA certification and education programs, membership initiatives and events.
- Spearhead trademark and copyright efforts.
- Other duties as identified by the Executive Director.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of six years’ experience with associations or education.
- Floral design experience, with TMF, TMFA, PCF, PFCI, CFD or AIFD credentials preferred.
- In-depth understanding of the educational system and Texas Education Agency requirements.
- Project management or curriculum development experience.
- Familiarity with learning management systems and customer relationship management software.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail is a must.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with all levels of association staff.
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite products.
- Ability to lift 10 pounds.
This position will travel approximately 12 times annually to support testing events, conferences and meetings.
TSFA offices are open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Leander, Texas. This hybrid position will work remotely and in person.
