AG SCIENCE TEACHERS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT & EDUCATIONAL ADVANCEMENT CEU CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS
Texas State Florists' Association has developed two option program in which Ag Science Teachers have the ability to receive their Texas Master Florist Certification through the Texas Certified Florist Program and receive an accredited CEU Certificate for the hours participated. The two options, depending on your floral design experience, are presented below:
Ag Science Teachers with LESS than 3 years teaching experience in Floral Design
- Ag Science Teachers with less than 3 years experience teaching Floral Design may take a program consisting of 3 Introductory Hands-On Floral Design Courses.
- Basic Design Techniques
- Wedding Design Techniques
- Funeral Design Technique
NOTE: hands-on classes with classroom activities, hands-on designing, processing flowers & much more!
These classes are held periodically. Please visit the Classes/Workshops page to find the next one scheduled.
These 3 courses (above) are key elements to succeed in the Texas Certified Florist Program which designates the Texas Master Florist Certification when completed. The 8 On-line classes towards your TMF Certification can be taken at your leisure.
The knowledge obtained through these 3 courses will help with classroom activities, hands-on ideas and the skill needed for the success of your students.
Ag Science Teachers with MORE than 3 years teaching experience in Floral Design
Ag Science Teachers with more than 3 years experience in teaching Floral Design are eligible to enroll in the Texas Certified Florist Program after completing TCF Qualifying Exam. The Texas Certified Florist Program consists of:
- Hands On Qualifying Exam
- 8 Online Classes
- 3 Hands-On Classes, 1 Lecture Class
- Hands-On & Written TMF Exam
The Qualifying Exam is offered at each High School Floral Certification testing location for more information go to TSFA's Classes and Workshops and at the Ag Science Conference.
The 8 On-line classes towards your TMF Certification can be taken at your leisure and you will earn CPE credits towards your Professional Development requirement.
The 3 Hands-On classes will be held in June 2013 at Texas A&M University-Benz School of Floral Design.
NOTE: Ag Science Teachers with more than 3 years of teaching experience in Floral Design are welcome to take the 3 Introductory Hands-On classes offered in June but it is not required.
